Alert Fatigue

Alert fatigue occurs when SOC analysts are flooded with security alerts, the majority of which are false positives or low-priority noise, and become less able to identify genuine threats. Over time, analysts begin to dismiss or deprioritize alerts more quickly, increasing the risk that critical incidents are missed. Alert fatigue is one of the leading causes of analyst burnout and SOC inefficiency, and is directly linked to organizations that lack automation to filter real threats from noise.
